Back to School, Back to You
Back-to-school season is a funny thing.
For weeks, there’s a slow buildup. Shoes don’t fit anymore, everyone needs new clothes, and then the school supply lists appear. I try to inch back the kids bedtimes, but summer habits are hard to break.
The countdown until school starts begins. Last week, last weekend, and then the first morning of school…
It’s a lot. Then suddenly they’re gone.
It’s a strange transition. Bittersweet, for sure. But also, I couldn’t be more grateful for these times.
Getting “Back to Normal”
There’s a lot that goes into getting back to normal. There are new routines to figure out. Earlier mornings. Drop-offs and pickups. Practices, activities, homework, emails from school, and a grumble-worthy amount of things that need to be added to the calendar.
But we do it! And our bodies keep up with all of it without asking for attention. You carry the bags. You make the trips. You sit in the pickup line. You reorganize the week in your head while doing three other things.
Then when you finally sit down at the end of the day, you notice how much you’ve been carrying.
Consider This Your Back-to-School Reset
- You bought the folders.
- You figured out the schedule.
- You located the mysteriously specific item on the school supply list that apparently exists at exactly one store in Austin.
- Everybody made it through the first morning.
Now, how are you feeling?
A massage can be a simple way to mark the transition between the busy energy of summer and the new rhythm of fall.
An hour where nobody needs anything from you.
No school notifications. No errands. No coordinating schedules.
Just time to let your shoulders drop, unclench the muscles that have been doing more work than you realized, and settle into the next season.
At Sage Blossom Massage, that’s exactly what we’re here for.
Whether you visit us at Anderson Mill or Oak Hill, consider this your invitation to put one more thing on the back-to-school list:
Take care of you, too.
