HOW IT WORKS
As the salt particle travel in the salt room, they are inhaled which naturally can absorb allergens, toxins and foreign substances in your lungs, respiratory tract, and sinuses reducing inflammation to open airway passages. The pure particles break loose and can help clear out phlegm and mucous. This can impact people suffering from respiratory conditions like allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, COPD and more, as well as aid in athletic endurance and recovery time.
Salt absorbs impurities and provides anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation properties that benefit the skin to help treat acne, psoriasis, eczema and more. The smaller particles can reach beneath the skin’s surface and absorb moisture. The dry salt accelerates cell rejuvenation and improves skin texture, leaving the skin plump and soft.

The benefits of halotherapy first came to light in 1843. Polish doctor Feliks Boczkowski worked with salt mine workers, and noticed they had reduced respiratory problems and a lower probability of lung disease compared to other miners. During World War II, a German physician called Karl Hermann Spannagel made similar discoveries. After hiding in salt underground caves during the war, the health of his patients improved.
In the 1950s, salt therapy took a new turn when Eastern European physicians and engineers figured out how to simulate the natural conditions of salt caves. This lead to modern day salt therapy, with countless halotherapy treatment areas opening up across Europe in the 1980s and 1990s including many operating in European hospitals. Today thousands of salt caves, salt rooms and salt lounges can be found throughout Europe and the USA. We are SO excited to be the first to bring Salt Therapy to Austin Texas!!
